Step into the world of Barbie, where adventure and companionship come wrapped in a furry package. This real-life Barbie dog isn't just any dog; she’s a living, breathing bundle of joy, ready to make every day an adventure worth sharing. If your family motto is "Live life in full color," then meet Barbie, your perfect match on four legs, embodying the spirit of her namesake with a zest for life that’s as infectious as it is inspiring.

Barbie's Dreamhome:  This home sees Barbie not just as a pet, but as an integral family member! Whether it’s a quiet day at home or an outdoor escapade, Barbie craves to be part of the narrative, bringing joy and companionship to every scene.

Likes: all about embracing life’s adventures, from the thrill of exploring new trails to the simple joy of a backyard sniff. Like her namesake, who has been everything from an astronaut to a veterinarian, our Barbie is ready to dive into any activity, proving her enthusiasm for life is as boundless as her energy. Toys, treats, playdates, and even the occasional stylish nap—Barbie’s ready for it all!

Dislikes: Solitude is Barbie’s least favorite scenario. Much like the iconic doll, who’s best enjoyed in the company of friends like Ken and Skipper, our Barbie thrives on companionship. She even likes Alan and weird Barbie.

Additional Considerations: Barbie is extremely athletic! She would be an excellent candidate for agility, hiking or daily runs. She is smart and loves using her brain for treats.

What makes this dog special: Barbie is the ultimate adventure dog and would love to find a forever home that likes to have as much fun as she does! Looking for a dog to hit the trails? Barbie would be perfect! Want a dog to take to a patio? Barbie loves that too! A walk around the neighborhood or early morning jog? Bring Barbie!

She has impeccable manners, does well in the car, and she very rarely uses her counter surfing abilities for evil.

Barbie is also one of the most affectionate dogs out there. She insists on burrowing herself on the people-bed at night regardless of how hot it is and it's impossible to sit on the couch without Barbie joining. She also LOVES kids and is very gentle when meeting them. Frankly, we unsure why she hasn't been scooped up yet!  Barbie has waited a long time for her perfect family, and would love to find one for summer fun!

Barbie's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting Barbie, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved.

More about this rescue

RESCUEDohio was founded on August 1, 2015 by a group of dedicated animal lovers in the central Ohio area. The founders came from various different vocational backgrounds, but all have one thing in common: the passion to save dogs. Before starting RESCUEDohio, they were previously involved in different aspects of rescue, including fostering, fundraising, coordinating and training. The mission of this group is to help find homes for unwanted and abandoned dogs and to advocate for the rights of all animals everywhere.
