Hi, I'm Tigress, I'm 1 12 yrs old, and I'm what they call a Torbie. That means I look like a tabby cat, but I have apricot coloring also which makes me part Tortoiseshell, too! All that to say is I am gorgeous and very regal looking. My siblings and I were born outside and we didn't have much human contact until we were a few months old so I am slowly coming out of my shell. It has taken months to get me to this point. Somehow, I have decided that I occasionally like to go belly up so my foster mom and dad can rub my belly. Yet, I still will run away if I am not ready to have petting and affection. Just like all of my siblings, I do not want to be alone. I need one of my siblings or another kitten to help comfort me and be my friend. I love treats, toys, and I also come around if I hear rustling to see if it's a treat for me. I am looking for a patient new family to help me with trust and lots of love. If you think I could be the girl for you, please fill out an online application, so we can meet. Let's find out if we can be that perfect fit!

TAPS-Tazewell Animal Protective Society was founded in 1958 in Pekin Illinois in a building donated by the City of Pekin on River Road. In 1979, rapidly rising river water forced the evacuation of the animals. Once again, the City of Pekin stepped in and donated a building for the animals. Several moves later, and with the help and generosity of many volunteers and community members, TAPS now has a new home at 100 TAPS Lane. Last year we celebrated 50 year of caring for the homeless animals of Central Illinois.
