My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lucy!

Lucy is a stunning gray fluff ball who’s just beginning to discover how wonderful life can be. She was found wandering alone in the mountains near Dahlonega, and while she can still be a little shy when meeting new people, it’s easy to understand why. With a little patience and a lot of love, Lucy is sure to blossom into the devoted companion she’s meant to be.

If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle soul to welcome into your home, Lucy might be your perfect match. Once she feels safe, we know she’ll show her gratitude with purrs, affection, and loyal best-friend energy for years to come.

Lucy’s adoption fee is $150 which includes her spay, microchip, Rabies vaccine, 2 FVRCP vaccines, FIV/FeLV combo test (Lucy is negative!) and she is up to date on flea/tick preventative.

If you`d like to meet Lucy, feel free to fill out an adoption application at tlchs.org or you are welcome to make a match making appointment to come out and meet her. We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Go meet their pets

We do adoptions on the square in Dahlonega most weekends, attend various local events, have annual fundraisers, and our animals can be seen at the shelter any day from 10:00 - 4:30 (an hour for lunch from 12:00-1:00). Come by and see the new changes at the shelter as well, ask to volunteer, or just introduce yourself and meet the wonderful staff members.

More about this shelter

Established in 1977, TLC is one of the oldest no-kill shelters in North Georgia. Our shelter is on about six acres near the Lumpkin County shelter, and about five miles east of Dahlonega. Our focus is saving as many homeless pets as we can, and preventing the birth of unwanted pets. We have always relied on private donations to care for as many animals as we can.
