My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

To apply for them, go to www.larabbits.org and fill out an online application form: http://larabbits.org/adoption-application/ All our rabbits are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated for RHDV2 and litter box trained! From their foster mom: Cinnamon Toast is a "master of bread making" which I learned from his various sleeping poses, from Loaf to Bagette. I guess his name contains "bread" so he truly expresses that in his sweet dreams. He is also the leader of the pair who likes to explore new places, with or without permission. Brownie follows along. In the future, I hope he can be a gentleman to Brownie during snack time. Right now, he is a little bossy :)
Brownie is a gentle and caring partner for CT. I often see her grooming him and making space to invite CT to sleep by her side. She's easily distracted, though: it is funny to watch her hopping around in the morning, trying to decide between fresh water and hay, yummy veggies, and pellets.

In general, they are pretty good with litter boxes and stay quite clean. They are very independent and gentle bunnies.
Their age: 3-5.
CT is 2022 Mar Vista rescue and Brownie is from the 2019 Mar Vista rescue. They bonded in summer 2022.

Their adoption process

2.

Interview

We match people with rabbits, rabbits with rabbits.

3.

Home Check

We call this a "home safety visit" because safety for rabbits can get complex---we want it to be safe but we are not intrusive.

4.

Meet the Pet

During the RHDV2 and COVID19 epidemic and pandemic, we are limiting contact with our rabbits to people who are seriously interested.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

We have an adoption contract that acts as a safety net for the rabbit: if something happens to you, bunny comes back to us.

6.

Pay Fee

We have adoption fees ranging from $90-150 depending on our prior investment in the rabbit. Pairs are $150-250.

Additional adoption info

Our rabbit adoption fee includes the neuter, vaccination and micro chip (we do not adopt out unaltered rabbits under any circumstances). Rabbits must live in an indoor, cage-free environment. Exercise pens that are at least 4' x 4' with additional run time in a rabbit-proofed room are acceptable. Note: We do not adopt out of the Greater Los Angeles area unless the adopter has previously adopted from us.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

We are adopting out rabbits by appointment only. Location of meeting place will be provided after potential adopters and organization have agreed on meeting specific rabbits.

Our weekly mobile adoption venue is ON HOLD for now
due to COVID-19.

All rabbits will have to be vaccinated for RHDV2 to meet there in future.

More about this rescue

We are a Los-Angeles based rabbit welfare group that provides education on rabbit care, promotes spay/neuter of companion rabbits, and helps find homes for abandoned rabbits in Los Angeles County.

Our founder, Michelle Kelly, PhD, has helped establish successful adoption programs for rabbits in public animal shelters. She is also a licensed educator and Chapter Manager for House Rabbit Society.
