My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dorothy – this little black beauty with the adorable nubbed tail is as loving as she is lovely. She especially enjoys spending her time on the screened in area where she can watch everything that is going and be ready to join in the fun. She loves to play, especially with feather toys on a string. She also loves to race around the cottage, chasing and playing tag with the other kittens. She does not mind being picked up, held close and snuggled. We are sure—when she is not busy playing--that she would even enjoy taking an nap in someone’s lap. She is not only beautiful—she is a great all-round kitten waiting for someone to love her forever.

More about this rescue

The Animal Refuge Center (ARC) of Fort Myers is a not for profit animal welfare society dedicated to stopping the escalating cost to impound, care for, kill and dispose of dogs and cats dying for no reason other than having been born. ARC is helping to cut the large numbers of homeless animals which eventually cuts the costs to taxpayers, which to date has reached over half a million dollars a year.

ARC is a non-euthanasia organization. Once we accept an animal for adoption, IT WILL NOT BE DESTROYED TO MAKE ROOM FOR ANOTHER. We are here to help the unwanted and neglected animals who now face certain death.
