Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Is there anything better than a senior pup? We don’t think so but let’s see if you will agree. Benny is a 10-year-old retired research beagle. He’s got it all – love and fun attached to a constantly wagging tail!! Benny already knows house rules, barks infrequently, let’s you know when he needs to relieve himself, “helps” with the laundry or kitchen and loves to snuggle with you on the sofa during TV time. He is crazy about his daily walks and going for a car ride is another favorite thing. Benny gets rid of some excess energy by running and playing in the fenced in yard with his foster brother dogs. A typical beagle boy, Benny is curious, fun loving and never misses a meal. We don’t think there’s anything better that a senior beagle – Benny sure proves this point!! Interested in meeting him? Complete a "Dog Adoption Application" found at www.happypawsrescue.org under the *ADOPT* tab. Thank you for your interest in adopting!

You may not know it, but you might have a BEAGLE to thank for your medicines! Beagles are used for safety testing of human and veterinary medicines for the same reasons that they make good pets; they're small and gentle-natured. Where does Happy Paws Rescue come into the picture? On a regular basis, research facilities have beagles that they release to us. It gives us and you a chance to give back to these sweet dogs that have contributed to the advancement of science. Please email us if you're ready to be a giant hero in the eyes of a little dog!
Thinking about adopting me? Here’s how:
1. Fill out an application found at www.happypawsrescue.org under the *ADOPT* tab.
2. Please allow a few days for us to review and respond to your application.
3. Approved applicants will be invited to come meet me at a scheduled meet and greet.
4. We generally adopt to families within a 1-hour radius of our home base in Piscataway, NJ but may consider farther distances in the tri-state region if volunteers are available. If you live beyond our geographical boundaries, we hope you will contact rescue organizations closer to your home.
5. If both you and the rescue agree that I'm a good fit for your home, you will fill out an adoption contract.
6. We have lots of fun together!
