My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NAME: Bailey
Sex: F
Color/Pattern: black & tan
Breed(s): Dachshund, Bassett hound, Chow Chow mix
Weight: 36lbs
Size: medium- small
Coat length: med-short
DOB approx: ~2012?
Age at intake: ~10 yrs?

Personality
Bailey's favorite past time is napping. She is happy to put on a leash, and looks forward to walks, but doesnt want to go very far. She is very tolerant of all other dogs, but does let them know she is the matriarch and gets to eat first. She loves treats and is not picky. Hence her rotund physique. Crate trained and potty trained, she has a huge bladder unheard of in small breeds and can hold it long periods when she feels too lazy to go outside. She likes to explore the house and test out all possible dog beds, pillows, and furniture to rate them for nappability. She is gentle and quiet and well mannered. An easy- going, low-maintenance, good girl.

Background
Bailey was surrendered with her brother Blakey to Fort Worth Animal Shelter in early Nov 2022, by a relative of their former owner. Bailey and Blakey got separated at the shelter and when they called GNAR to tell them that Blakey was registered to the rescue organization, they neglected to mention Bailey! Blakey had been adopted from GNAR back in 2018, but Bailey was an unknown.
So GNAR volunteers went back for her and picked her up 2 days after Blakey. They look so much alike, but the shelter says her microchip was originally given by Ftw animal control and was unregistered. She didnt even have her name recorded at the time they were dropped off. Both Bailey and Blakey have blue tongues and are middle aged, black and tan shorties.
