My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Imagine being pulled from a dog fighting bust as just a 5 week old puppy, and then living in a shelter for the next year of your life. Then one day, a nice lady comes and gives you lots of pets and treats. She takes you out of your kennel, into the sunshine, and helps you into her car. After you vomit and 💩 everywhere, you go straight to the vet to be poked and prodded. It’s a little scary, but you’re excited for all the new people and smells.
You finally go to the nice ladies house and meet new friends, and you are loose with other dogs and play in the grass for the first time. You are so excited that you jump in their faces and follow them everywhere! You lay on a bed for the first time, run in a yard, see wildlife, cars, trees and flowers. You wonder why humans have this weird box with pictures but no smell in their house. This lady has a basket of things that you are allowed to chew on! Naturally, you bite them all. She makes you chicken and rice to make your belly feel better. A belly that hasn’t ever had consistent nutrition and has always hurt. You have dozens of “firsts” in just one single day. Finally it’s time for bed. It has taken you a full 24 hours just to take your first deep breath and lay down. It’s so quiet for the first time since you can remember, and you fall into a deep sleep on a soft bed.

This was Harley’s story on the 6th day we had pulled him from the shelter. Since that day he has made leaps and bounds (Literally. Look at those legs.) He’s had professional training, been extensively socialized and temperament tested and passed with flying colors. Please contact us to adopt this playful boy with sweet eyes and the BEST ears. He deserves it!
