Here's what the humans have to say about me:
June 13, 2025 - Bandit has been in foster care since May 2, 2023, and during this time, he has blossomed into a well-mannered and loving companion. Over the past two years, he has learned a variety of tricks including `sit,` `paw,` playing tug-of-war, chasing leaves, and fetching his toys—especially his beloved giant balls. Bandit treasures his toys and often prefers to keep them to himself rather than share with other dogs. When he’s in the mood to play with a human, he’ll gently place a toy on your lap and gaze deeply into your eyes, as if begging you to join him.
Bandit has also developed a deep love for water—it both soothes and energizes him. He enjoys lounging by the pool, splashing in sprinklers, going on short swims, floating on kayaks, and joining in safe water adventures while wearing his life vest.
While Bandit has come a long way, he is still learning about the world around him. New experiences, objects, or environments can make him anxious, which he expresses by spinning in circles. He also circles when he needs to go outside to pee—a clear sign that he hates soiling the space where he sleeps. Once he gets a sniff of fresh air and feels the ground beneath him, he’s ready to do his business. Smart boy!
Bandit thrives on Blue Buffalo kibbls, home-cooked meals with rice, potatoes, vegetables, and protein, and he can’t resist treats like doggie ice cream, popsicles, and pup cups. His absolute favorite? Apples—especially the ones he can pick straight from the tree. He also loves bully sticks, marrow bones, tough ropes, and, of course, those giant balls. He’ll guard his treasures with determination.
Bandit adores people and gets very excited when meeting someone new. With patience and consistency, he can be taught to greet others calmly. He loves walks and sniffing adventures, but because of his size and strength, quieter walking areas are ideal. He can be nervous and reactive around larger, furrier dogs like huskies, though he’s generally more tolerant of smaller dogs. Introductions to other dogs should always be slow and carefully supervised, on leash.
Since Bandit hasn’t mastered recall just yet, a home with a secure outdoor space where he can run and spin to his heart’s content would be perfect.
Due to his size and strength, Bandit should be placed in an adult-only home. While he’s incredibly lovable, he wouldn’t be a good fit for first-time dog owners. He needs an experienced, active household—preferabl
