Hi, my name is Archer. I was purchased from a “breeder” and my new “owner” quickly realized German Shepherd Dogs are a LOT of work. As in we need training, mental stimulation and exercise. She left me in a crate 22 hours out of the day.
I was taken in by a neighbor who realized how bad that was for me, but he didn’t have the ability to train a now six month old puppy who had spent months going stir crazy.
So I ended up at the shelter, and subsequently MVPC. I have spent the last few months in a GSD-savvy home, learning commands, attending training, and getting my much needed mental and physical stimulation. I am strong willed, stubborn, active and smart and I need a family who is also strong willed, stubborn, active and smart. Older kids please, as I am very strong. I am good with other dogs with proper introductions, and am still learning how to appropriately interact. I need an airline carrier or a steel crate. Unfortunately I spent so much time in a wire crate (not kidding, 6mo, 22 hours a day), I can escape them. I do honor the others and MVPC will help make sure you have the right kind.
If you want a smart, loyal, strong, STUBBORN, but beautiful teammate, I may be your guy. Must have experience with my breed, or similar breeds.
ADOPTION FEE: $375 (All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and house-trained)

I AM READY TO GO HOME!! If you are approved to be my new family, a hold fee of $100 is required and will be applied to the full adoption fee of $375 when MVPC comes to visit your house with me!

PLEASE NOTE: We are volunteer based and a home visit is required; we have a two-hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies. Exceptions for our ADULT dogs only, though rare, may be made on a case-by-case basis but we must be able to do a home visit. Thank you for your understanding!
