Hi! My name is Kelis, and I'm a Pit Bull Terrier mix! I think I'm pretty cute if I do say so myself! I am currently 4 years old and weigh almost 70lbs. I have been at the shelter since November of 2022 and have already spent 2 birthdays and 2 holiday seasons here. Despite this, I have hope for the future and almost always have a smile on my face! Staff is always there to love on me and cheer me up. My dream is to find a loving family to enjoy all the activities with. Can you please help me make that happen? You have no idea how much that would mean to me!
I am a very sweet and lively girl! My dream home would include a big fenced-in backyard to play in. Tennis balls are my favorite toy and I LOVE to carry them around. Give me a tennis ball, and I'll love you forever. I can't get enough of them! I enjoy interacting with my canine friends, so let's set up a meet and greet with any dogs you own before taking me home. I'd prefer a home with no cats or kids as I don't know my own size. I promise that I'll fill your life with lots of love and snuggles! I'm so ready to meet you!

More about this shelter
The mission of the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri is to aid in the alleviation of distress and suffering of animals by operating a shelter in need of care, placing animals in suitable homes, and offering educational programs that promote animal welfare.
We receive our animals from people giving up their pets for a variety of reasons, including changes in family situations and moving. Some of our animals have been strays rescued from the streets by a kind citizen, but all of our animals are looking for permanent, loving forever homes.
