My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wilbur is a cute male kitten who was born in our shelter on July 24, 2022 when his mother (Charlotte) gave birth to two babies on July 23rd and July 24th. Charlotte's first kitten passed away shortly after birth. Charlotte raised her one baby boy (Wilbur) under less-than-ideal conditions in a small shelter cage. Wilbur received the best care ever from mother Charlotte and also our HSOV Kennel Techs, and he has always been a happy playful youngster.

Wilbur has a gray short smooth coat, a long tail, and a beautiful face with golden eyes, a gray velvet nose, and long gray whiskers.

This little boy has a playful outgoing personality and is always at the front of his cage in hopes of some attention.

Wilbur was separated from his mother Charlotte soon after she was spayed on October 10th, so little Wilbur is now all by himself for the first time in his short life. Charlotte is still in our shelter and has yet to find a home, so perhaps fate will magically bring them together again if they were to be adopted as a pair.

Wilbur's mother Charlotte was combo tested on June 30th (the day she arrived at HSOV) and she tested negative for feline leukemia and heartworm but tested positive for FIV [Feline Immunodeficiency Virus]. Wilbur has not yet been combo tested, so we don't know yet if he will test negative or positive for FIV.

Wilbur was given first vaccinations on September 23, 2022 and booster vaccines on October 18, 2022.

Wilbur was neutered on November 21, 2022 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 3.5 lbs that day.

Wilbur is now available for adoption and also for rescue (and please remember that his mother Charlotte is also looking for a fabulous home as well).

Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.
