My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE COMPLETE OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION AT WWW.LOVEBUGSRESCUE.ORG IF YOU'D LIKE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ADOPTION:

Meet Zuma! This handsome boy was born to be a head turner. His former family purchased him of craigslist and fell in love with his good looks, but didn't realize how HUGE he was going to get. Zuma is already 65 lbs at just 6 months old. We expect him to mature in the 80 lbs PLUS range.

Zuma is super sweet and outgoing, and loves going on long adventures and hikes. He's got a gorgeous medium tri-color coat and the most adorable floppy ears. He resembles a Swiss Mountain Dog in the looks department, however we were told he's a Husky/Irish Setter mix. He does talk like a Husky, so anything is possible!

Zuma LOVES to play with other dogs and enjoys the company when his humans are gone. He is housebroken and well mannered around the home aside from pulling a few things off the counter from time to time. Zuma is great with kids (older is better due to his size), he's friendly with new people he meets and he doesn't seem to mind kitty cats. He's already mastered sit and has excellent recall off leash on his hikes. He would benefit from continued stimulation through puzzles and smart toys and continued basic training as he grows into adulthood. He responds well to positive reinforcement training because who doesn't love treats?!

Zuma would do best in a home with a yard, and someone who is fairly active with regular adventures. Another playful pooch is a big plus, but not a must and an owner that has the time to build on the training that we have already started with him would be perfect. We have not doubt that Zuma is going to make an awesome family member to a family who loves the extra large breeds.

Zuma's adoption fee is $400 and includes his neuter (deferred due to his size), registered microchip, vaccines current, deworming and flea treatment. Apply to meet Zuma at www.lovebugsrescue.org
