My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Derek. Derek a bundle of love. He is super friendly, very playful and just a happy go lucky boy. Derek is a bit of a goof ball who loves to play with his toys, getting attention and petting. He LOVES to play in the kiddie pool and would romp all day in it if he could. Derek would be okay with older kids but may be a little playful for toddler sized children. Derek gets along with other dogs. We do not know what he thinks of cats. Derek is about 1-2 years old and 50 pounds. Please help Derek find the loving home he deserves.

Note: As part of routine testing, in December, Derek surprised everyone with a positive Parvo virus test as he certainly was not acting sick or showing any symptoms. Derek has done very well and has been cleared to go home with his new family. He was recently retested as now negative for Parvo. Derek is ready to go home!

Update: Derek tested positive for Lyme & Anaplasmosis, two common tick borne diseases. He has completed his oral antibiotic treatment and feeling great! This loving boy is ready to go home with you!
