My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I am Astro!  I am a  cattle dog of great behavior in many regards. My sister, Piper, and I are offered up as a pair because they are very fond of each other and as such they can play independently with each other without concern or monitoring. They are perfectly healthy, about 3 years of age, fixed and get very frequent outings from the house. The often outings are cornerstone to their fine behavior and they would need the same in an adopters home. Living limitations for them would be not in a home of exuberant kids or sharp and loud sounds. Both will be very afraid of fireworks and less so with thunder unless the thunder is very considerable. Piper occasionally digs and Astro very infrequently. They have been around dozens of dogs at the dog park without scuffling incidents, but they both can be wary of some unknown dogs for a bit. They car ride very well and do not bark at strangers with windows open as they wait for my return from fast food dining. They come to me in open field running with a whistle or name call. The field runs let them thoroughly exercise while I make an extended walk.

Go meet their pets

We will have Adoption Events posted on our Facebook page and Twitter. Our Twitter account is Emilys Legacy Rescue @EmilysLegRescue. We would like to do meet and greets with people and try to match them with the right home for their individual personalities. We do recommend doing a meet and greet when their is another family dog.

More about this rescue

Emily's Legacy Rescue is named from my Dalmatian Emily who died at 12 years old. She was the most amazing and loving girl. It was because of losing her that we first got into adopting our dogs. We then started fostering and volunteering. Emily's Legacy Rescue is all about helping displaced animals who find themselves in need. We do pull from kill shelters and place them in foster homes. In foster homes, we find that we can work on house training, crate training and any issues they may have to allow them to find the best possible homes.
