My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Max is adorable, affectionate and loves to be held and cuddled.  He is a 2 year old, 7 pound yorkie-poo who could stand to gain a pound or two.  He is house-broken and well mannered, loves his blankies and toys and has a calm disposition.  And he has gorgeous, thick, black-brown wavy fur.

Max is also a spoiled drama queen.  He will tell you what he wants and expects you to do his bidding.  Whether it is sharing your banana, putting on his sweater (he loves to get dressed) or telling you that it is time for a walk, "no" is not really an option.  While he is fine being left home alone for a few hours, he much prefers it when his human servants are there to wait on him.

Additionally, Max is a special needs baby.  He was born with a spine defect and two bad knees which sometimes cause him some pain.  He also has IBS.  We are working with 9 different specialists to make him as happy and comfortable as can be.  We would greatly appreciate any donations to help with the cost.  And any potential adopters will need to have the love and financial resources to handle anything that might come up in this boy's future, as we have promised him that his next home will be forever!

More about this rescue

Chesed Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of unwanted animals. “Chesed” is often translated as “loving kindness”. Acts qualify as “chesed” when they are motivated by a spirit of generosity, not obligation.

Chesed is a small rescue, where we get to know each animal as an individual. Our placements focus on not just finding excellent homes, but excellent homes that are the right fit for each pet. Our adoption criteria is strict. We work hard to get these pets to safety, we donate many hours to their care, and will not settle for anything less that a great home for their future.

All of our pets are in foster homes, where they get used to being a loved house pet. If you are interested in saving lives and getting fuzzy snuggles, please apply to foster at www.chesed-rescue.org/fostering.

In addition to our adoption and education programs, we manage the Kobi center, which provides those less fortunate or those on a fixed income with necessary pet supplies, food and medications.
