My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Resident since December 2022

Sweetie Pie is a playful doggie that is a joy to watch.  She is a such a sweetheart.  In fact her prior owner stated “ she is what her name denotes ... a sweetie pie.”

Sweetie Pie does not get along with every dog she meets but if they are not aggressive or dominate she enjoys playing.  Sweetie has several dogs at the rescue that she goes out with.  And while at camp she did well with KitKat and Moose.

This energetic cutie that loves her humans so much also needs a 6-foot fenced backyard to allow a safe place for her to play and use up her energy.  Do you garden and plant flowers?   If so, she would be great help as she likes to dig holes for you!!

Please submit an application to come and meet Sweetie Pie.

 About Training Camp:
Pet Rescue By Judy has teamed up with an incredible program called the  Greyhound Advancement Center  which will allow some of our dogs to attend a ten-week prison training program. The program originally started to help retired racing greyhounds learn how to “dog”.

Greyhound racing is now illegal in our state, but the program worked so well that they decided to open up to other rescues and accept different breeds. Each dog is teamed up with an inmate who is in their dog training program. This program allows inmates to gain an important skill that they can bring with them when they are released. The head trainers are the best of the best and we are sure that these dogs are going to come out of this program with all kinds of tricks up their little doggy sleeves. (Don’t worry, the dogs are treated very well and are the apple of their trainer’s eye ).

Our dogs are so blessed to be able to learn important obedience training to help with their confidence and make them awesome additions to a family.

We can not thank Greyhound Advancement Center enough for giving these dogs a leg up on getting into their forever home!

To arrange a meet, it is best to first complete an online adoption application so that we can set up a meeting. You can access complete information on our pets plus the adoption application on our website, www.petrescuebyjudy.com. Meets and Adoptions are held at our Sanford Adoption Center. Please visit our facebook page, facebook.com/petrescuebyjudy for a full listing of events where PRBJ is represented.

More about this rescue

We are a private, non-profit rescue located in Sanford, Florida, dedicated to the rescue cats and dogs. Many of them come to us with medical needs. They are doctored to the best of our ability and resources.

Our most urgent goal is to rescue animals that are abandoned or in distress, update their vaccines, and find good new homes for them. But we attempt to be more proactive than that. It is our heartfelt desire to prevent any animal from the need to be "rescued." With that vision in mind, we take a three-prong approach through the education of pet owners and the general public about:
- proper care of animals, including correct diet of good quality food, fresh clean water, daily exercise, and lots of love
- spaying and neutering companion animals (dogs and cats) in order to prevent euthanasia and over-population
- low-cost spay/neuter clinics and wellness centers in their local community
