My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maxine is available for local adoption or adoption and transport to another state. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down here, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home.
Maxine was abandoned at a rental property. She had litter after litter until someone moved in and reached out for help. Maxine is a medium-sized scruffy terrier mix weighing around 50 pounds. She is a low rider with short legs and a long body, but she is a lot heavier than she looks. The vet estimates that she is around 3 years old. Maxine is a sweet and wonderful dog. She is crate-trained, house-trained, well-behaved in the house, comes when called, walks well on a leash, and rides well in a vehicle. Maxine is friendly with other adult dogs and loves to play. She likes to bark at cats and squirrels. Maxine loves attention and pets and likes going on walks. We leave the door open on her crate and she puts herself to bed at night. Maxine must be in the house as a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and needs a fenced yard to run and play.
Maxine is healthy. She is spayed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. We had a lump on her back removed, it was only a blood-filled sac that has not returned and it was probably the result of some type of injury. Maxine is prone to ear infections so we keep a bottle of ear medicine on hand. Maxine has been treated for heartworms and they are now dead. She is on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. We would really love Maxine to have a fabulous forever home and we will consider both local and out-of-state applications. Her out-of-state adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport, and she can be transported almost anywhere within the continental United States. Maxine is being fostered in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Please send an email to 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting this wonderful dog.
