My name is Tanner! I came here on 1/15 after caring neighbors observed that my owner (who sadly has dementia), was not able to give me the care and attention I deserved. I am now warm and safe, but dreaming of a new forever family. I'm a fun, energetic girl who is looking for a kind family who wants a pretty girl like me. I love people, dogs and am curious about cats. When introduced to them here at the shelter, I didn't charge or act aggressive...I just acted silly. In all honesty, I wasn't sure what they were!
My dream home will have a fun family with kids or someone looking for a hiking buddy. After some healthy exercise, I'm happy settle down and relax, so we can watch TV together too! I am a young, athletic girl and can jump high, so I need a home that will be sure I can't (or won't) jump their fence. But...please...I was living on a tie-out before...I want to be able to come indoors and truly be part of the family!! I work well for treats and love belly rubs, so I'm eager to learn how your home works and become my best self! I can't wait to meet you and your family! Please bring the kids and dogs to visit, so we can be sure we are all a good fit!
We do ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, on a first-come/first serve basis. The best way to make an appointment is to click the blue "Book Now" button at the top of our Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/maccoanimalcontrol. Since we do first-come, first-serve adoptions, we highly recommend making an appointment asap if you want this pet. PLEASE WRITE THIS PET’S NAME in the note section of the appointment form, so we know who you want to see. In many cases, you can take the pet home the same day, so come prepared. :-) No need to email us prior to making an appointment, unless you have a specific question. If you have trouble with online booking, please email us. Appointments are available:

We are a rural animal control with limited resources and depend on both local and out-of-county folks to adopt our pets. We appreciate you looking!
