My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

📖🐾 Sammy Is Ready for a Fresh Start — Foster or Adopt 🐾📖

Some dogs burst into the room with big energy. Sammy is the opposite — the calm, steady presence who quietly becomes the best part of your day. 💛🐶

Sammy is a 70-lb Aussie mix (born 8/25/22) with a thoughtful, observant personality. He pays attention, learns routines quickly, and truly thrives when he has structure and a confident, kind human guiding him. Once he settles in, he becomes a wonderfully loyal companion who simply enjoys being near his person.

At home, Sammy is incredibly easy to live with. He settles quickly, keeps himself occupied while you work, and handles everyday household activity without stress. When things get busy, he simply finds a cozy spot and relaxes. 🛋️🐾

Sammy’s impressive “good boy” résumé includes:
🐾 Crate trained and sleeps peacefully through the night
🛏️ Often chooses his crate as his own comfy retreat
🚪 Doggy-door trained
🏡 No accidents, marking, chewing, or counter surfing
🍽️ Calm and patient at mealtimes

Out on walks, Sammy is quiet and focused. He walks nicely on leash, doesn’t react to passing dogs, and already knows sit, stay (a strong one!), shake, and down. Treats are a great motivator — though this enthusiastic eater does best with slower feeding. 😄

Sammy does well with cats and tends to prefer medium to large dog companions. Smaller dogs may require thoughtful introductions while he continues refining his social manners. With new people, especially in the home, he can be a little cautious at first — but once he feels safe, he forms incredibly loyal bonds.

He’s the perfect balance of:
🤍 Independent without being distant
🐶 Affectionate without being clingy
🧠 Smart, observant, and wonderfully calm

Right now, Sammy is looking for either a foster or a forever home where he can continue building confidence with steady leadership and a consistent routine.

Fostering is completely free — the rescue provides food, supplies, and veterinary care. All you provide is a safe place for Sammy to land and continue thriving. And if he turns out to be the perfect fit, fosters get the first opportunity to adopt. 🥹💛

If you’re looking for a peaceful, intelligent companion who will quietly become your loyal sidekick, Sammy might be the one.
