My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Almond, but I’m affectionately called Almond Joy ™. I am content just being next to someone, as you’ll hear from my loud motor. If you want to cuddle, I love curling up in a ball in your arms or on your lap and we can snuggle all day. I’m a pretty relaxed boy and at about 1 1/2.  - 2  years  old I’m just happy that I’ve been given a chance to enjoy a warm and carefree life. If you’re looking for a lounge cat to bring joy into your life I’d be perfect for the job, so apply to adopt me today! His adoption fee is $100.

All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home.

We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application.

We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information.

We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.

Go meet their pets

As a network of foster homes, we do not have a "shelter location". We do hold meet and greet events each month at various locations where you can meet our precious pitties. Otherwise, meet and greets are only available with an approved application and home visit.

You can view our schedule of events at www.adoptapitrescue.org/events or on our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/adoptapitrescue

More about this rescue

Our mission is to rescue, re-home and rehabilitate abused, neglected and discarded "bully breed" dogs, with a focus on educating and advocating to ensure all bully breeds have a positive and optimistic future in a breed discriminatory society.
