My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I’m pretty sure I’m called Honey because I’m soooo sweet. And, I’m especially sweet and gentle with children. My favorite place to be is at the center of family "cuddle puddles", but I’m always happy to give new people a chance to pet me. My favorite things to do are playing with stuffed toys, hiding my bones, and I just love to show off for treats. I’m leash and crate-trained, know how to SIT on request, and I’m ready to learn some new tricks. I do like to be the queen of my own castle so no other dogs or cats please. If you’d like to get together for our very own “cuddle puddles”, send in an adoption application with my sweet name on it.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

• Applicants must be 21 years or older and must be able to provide proof of age. • Applicants must be within 50 miles of Nashville.

2.
Approve Application

• Applicants are required to provide personal and vet references. We will be calling these references before approving the application.

3.
Interview

• Applicants will interview with the ALIVE Rescue President first. If approved, you will get to speak to the dogs foster family after.

4.
Pay Fee

• Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog from ALIVE Rescue Memphis is $275.00 for an adult and $300 for a puppy.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

• Once adoption is approved and fees are paid, applicants will sign our ALIVE Rescue adoption Contract to finalize the adoption.

6.
Take the Pet Home

• Welcoming your new family member is the last step, and the best step!

Additional adoption info

• We require an additional $75 training deposit at the time of adoption. You will be required to enroll and complete a training class with your new companion at one of our approved training facilities. Once ALIVE Rescue Memphis receives proof of the completed class, this $75 deposit will be refunded.

• Any current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered. Exceptions to this will only be considered if proof of a medical explanation is provided.

• All members of the family living in the home where the animal will be placed must be interviewed.

Go meet their pets

The first time you will meet your dog in person is when they arrive on transport in Nashville, UNLESS you choose to travel to Memphis before the adoption is final, to meet your potential family member. We do our best in the interview process to ask as many questions possible about your current animals, household, and general things you are looking for in a dog. We do this to ensure all parties are comfortable and happy with the adoption. It is our goal to give you a companion for 10-15 years. We want our dogs to be in forever homes! We understand this type of adoption is not for everyone and would encourage any applicant who is uncomfortable with not meeting one of our dogs beforehand, to refrain from submitting an application.

ALIVE Rescue Memphis is a branch of ALIVE Rescue, a very successful foster based rescue that has been going strong in Chicago for over 12 years. Besides adopting out homeless animals, we also do reach out days at children's hospitals and senior living programs. Providing pet owners with all the tools they need is also very important to us. We plan to do community pet days, like our branch in Chicago, and supply vaccines and microchip to low income pet owners. Our desire is to keep pets in homes, and out of the shelters,
