My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Special Needs*

Winona is an adorable DSH black and white tuxedo female born approximately 08/28/2022. She has soft, silky fur and big, stunning golden eyes. She is small for her age and her large eyes give her an adorable munchkin look.

Winona was turned into a local animal shelter and rescued by NBCR to foster and care for. She is a very sweet and outgoing girl. She loves to play all the time. Her foster room is filled with toys and she will run around playing with all of them for hours at a time. She especially loves the ball track and playing with wand toys with people. When she does slow down, she is not shy at all and will happily jump into your lap for some pets or a snuggle. She makes the cutest little meep-like meows when she wants your attention.

Winona loves Fancy Feast Kitten wet food and also will eat kitten kibble as a snack.

Winona is microchipped and currently in a foster home. Her adoption fee is $105.

Special Needs: Winona has tested positive for FeLV, which is a virus that has the potential to weaken a cat’s immune system and decrease their lifespan. She should be tested again after she is a year old to confirm because false positives are possible. While Winona is completely healthy now, down the road she should be monitored closely and have any health issues checked out by a veterinarian quickly.

Because FeLV can be spread from cat to cat through saliva (grooming, sharing food bowls, etc.) she should either be an only cat, housed with another cat that is current on the FeLV vaccination as the potential to spread is unlikely with a vaccinated cat, or housed with other FeLV+ cats.

The virus is species specific, so dogs and other animals are completely safe.
