My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lowie Joey is a small boy who weighs more than he looks at 40 lbs and 3 years of age. He is a shy but joyful boy that appears to be a handsome  lowrider  mix of Basset Hound, Beagle, and German Shepard. His momma was a Shepherd mix and average height. He was rescued from a crowded backyard pen with his momma and siblings.  It was suggested that his daddy might have been an ambitious Dacshund mix. Our boy Lowie Joey took three weeks to warm up to his foster family, but now he's a very affectionate, snuggle bug that is not immediately accepting of a strangers offer of friendship. Only because he is cautious and shy do we mention the need for patience for  Joey to be allowed his longer warmup time. Right now he lives happily with various dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. He's very playful and would do well to have another dog in the home and a forever family that will enjoy taking him to the dog park and on daily walks. LJ  is needing  a quieter lifestyle and not lots of new people coming thru the home. Once he trusts you, he loves to be chased around the park while carrying around his favorite chuck-it ball.

We've been told no cats but another dog friend in the home is a MUST for him to be comfortable.  LJ is definitely a good dog sidekick and follows the lead of his beagle foster brothers. LJ is not aggressive with other dogs but copies the personaluty of his sibling.  . When housed with a sensitive and obedient dog, Lowie takes on that same disposition. For this reason, Lowie's sibling must have a sweet and confident disposition so Lowie does not feel compelled to protect his new forever family member. Crate trained,  house broken and wonderful on a leash, this boy will definitely make you feel like you truly rescued a dog with a need for you to continue the work for him to thrive. He needs a fenced yard and knows how to use a doggie door successfully. If you are interested in this boy that will charm you, please email us.  Ccrtennessee@gmail.com

More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated rescue people who want to save as many dogs and cats from the local shelters before they are euthanized. On the average....there are only 1 out of 10 animals that get adopted from a shelter. We are dedicated to helping increase pet adoptions by offering a shelter animal a foster home to go to while awaiting an adoptive family to find them on our Petfinder website. Won't you please adopt a shelter animal? Or won't you please help us foster a shelter animal while we are looking for their perfect home? What a gift you can give a dog or cat by giving them a place to feel safe and secure....a forever home or a foster home. Won't you help us at Critter Cavalry give them a chance to have a life?
