My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Available for adoption In Williamsburg, VA
You can’t help but smile when you see the adorable, senior, Buster Brown! Buster is thought to be an Australian Shepherd/Cocker Spaniel mix. Buster was at risk of being shot when he was rescued by ASF. He had no vetting for most of his life and had to be shaved because his coat was so heavily matted. His coat is coming in beautifully now and it will get even longer and fluffier.

He has been neutered and is fully vaccinated. We were advised that he had seizures as a young dog and now sometimes his back legs shake. He has not had a seizure in his 4 months with ASF.

Buster loves to cuddle up in your lap and take a nap. He is approximately 12 yrs. old and weighs 27lbs. As a senior pup, he has some arthritis and will need to continue his joint supplements. He gets around fine though, jumps up on the sofa and can get up and down the stairs. There are some days that he is a little stiff, but many of us can relate to that. Buster also has some hearing loss and seems to be losing some of his sight as well.

Buster gets along well with other dogs, but a young, exuberant dog may be too much for him. He rarely barks and is so quiet, the perfect gentleman. He has a healthy appetite but is more of a grazer than gobbler. Buster can be a feisty little guy, so don’t let his age fool you. He loves to check out the yard with his Australian Shepherd foster brother. Buster also loves to go be your co-pilot on car rides.

You get the best of both breeds with this handsome boy! He looks like a small aussie when he has his full coat and a cocker spaniel when he’s trimmed. Buster hasn’t met a stranger, he loves everyone. He has not been around children, but we do not feel that he should be around little children who may be too rough for his senior body. He has not been exposed to cats while with ASF, although we think he would be okay with just about any small animal.

Buster is looking for a low-key loving family with a fenced yard to explore and warm, comfy laps to nap on!! As a senior, Buster’s care and comfort are our top priorities. Buster is being fostered in Williamsburg, VA.
