My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Sam is ready for his new home and new life!  He is a Westie,  approximately 5-6 years old and 18 pounds.

Sam is a happy boy that wants nothing more than some love and attention.  He has beautiful eyes and looks at his foster mom with so much affection.  He is a smart boy too!  Sam does well with other dogs.  When he first arrived, he was not neutered and wanted to be the big man on campus but that quickly faded after his surgery.  He is happy to snuggle up with one of the other westies in his foster home and likes to play with them too.  He listens well to his foster mom and is learning the routine.  He is working hard on his housetraining but will need additional work in his new home.  Sam has a fully fenced yard currently and that is helpful.  He will walk on a leash but we have not tested him to potty on a leash as of yet.  Sam is very interested in cats and will bark at them.  He has seen them face to face and has not done anything but he does have a lot of interest.  Kids are fine.  He is good in a crate but prefers to be gated if you are going to be gone for a long time.  He has a curious side to him so he may get into a little trouble if you aren't prepared!  Sam does bark at strangers and also when he wants you to get up in the morning!

Sweet Sam arrived with a huge sebaceous cyst.  With some TLC and a visit to the vet, it has drained for the most part and there is only a little tiny bump now that keeps getting smaller.  It may never fully disappear but it is not harming him in any way.  Sam has enjoyed the warm baths that he has been receiving and is doing well with the minor grooming he has received.  We are letting his coat grow out so he can get a proper westie cut!  Westies are generally low/minimal shedding dogs but need to be groomed regularly also.

Sam is now neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, dewormed and tested neg. for heartworm.  His adoption fee is $450
