My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BECAUSE WE ARE A SMALL RESCUE THAT DOES HOMECHECKS, WE CURRENTLY CAN NOT ADOPT OUT OF STATE.
Shadow was found on the streets of Highland. After several days of being reported, a Good Samaritan was able to catch her and call Southpaw Rescue. It was thought that she might have been hit by a car, so we took her straight to the Emergency Vet. After a full set of x-rays and a full exam, the vet concluded there wasn’t anything wrong with her.
She is being fostered in a home with a 1-year-old child and is very gentle with him.
She is a calm husky (yes, that is what we said) who likes to just hang out with her foster family and lounge on the couch. Her foster dad takes her on short runs which she enjoys.
We had her rechecked by our vet, who found she might have some atrophy in her back legs because of some pain in her spine. She is currently on medication which is working and her back legs are getting stronger by the day.
Shadow is good with other dogs, but doesn’t wrestle and play like a normal husky. She prefers to be with the one-year-old child in her foster family.
We think Shadow had a rough first couple of years in life. It’s time to turn that around. Could you help? It's her time to get the love she deserves. Shadow takes a bit of time to warm up, but once she does, you see she is an amazing gentle soul.
