My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

From the moment you meet Lady, her sweet, friendly nature and warm demeanor will capture your heart !

Her gentle eyes and wagging tail reflect her genuine affection for people, making her an instant
favorite among both friends and strangers.  Because Lady loves everyone and every canine she
meets, her impulse control is a work in progress.

Lady absolutely LOVES the outdoors – except rain and then she becomes a diva – ha-ha. Lady is in her glory when it snows. She is truly perky and feisty in colder weather, but what Husky mix wouldn’t be!

She is great with kids but given her strength perhaps not younger than 10; of course, this is child  and parent dependent.

Lady’s foster mom loves her to the moon and back and wants the best for her. Lady recently  completed basic obedience training with H.E.A.R.T (Husky Education and Rescue Team). Lady needs a loving family she can call her own, a yard to run and play fetch, and maybe a dog playmate.

Lady is ready for the final chapter of her life, her own loving family.  She was found as a stray,
but it is apparent that at one time she had a home given her manners – crate and house-trained.

Lady was a wonderful mother to her 8 puppies. While in our care, Lady was treated successfully for Heartworm.  Lady has had some benign mammary adenomas removed and a few remain that need to be removed as a precaution.  ASR will pay for this procedure.

Please consider adopting Lady, or ask about our Foster to Adopt program.

THANKS TO SEAN S. AND MARTHA S. FOR YOUR VERY GENEROUS SPONSORSHIPS OF LADY!

More about this rescue

We are a group of German Shepherd lovers who help homeless German Shepherds that are in dire straits and need rescue.

We rescue dogs from kill shelters or other situations where the dogs' life is in danger. We fully vet our dogs and our wonderful fosters care for our dogs until their "forever home" is found!

We are a dating service for dogs, helping potential adopters find the perfect match for their families. We will work with you tirelessly until we find the perfect fit for your family!

We make a lifetime commitment to every dog and every adopter and we are there to answer questions and help with the transition to your home.

Why do we do it? We LOVE dogs , especially German Shepherds, and it breaks our hearts that so many adoptable GSD's never make it out of shelters.

We are an all volunteer group and are always looking for new volunteers to help us in our mission to save dogs!

FOSTERS, we need YOU!!!!

We need fosters to provide a safe haven while a dog is waiting for his/her forever home! If you think you cannot foster because you couldn't let your foster dog leave, talk to us!! While many of us have adopted one or more of our fosters ( we call it Failing Fostering 101 !!!) we can tell you how wonderful it is to see your foster become a beloved addition to a new family.............and opens up a space to save another dog on death row!

If you have any questions at all about fostering please give us a shout and we are happy to answer all questions.

If you cannot foster, we always need volunteers to help host events, do fundraising and PR .

And , of course, we always need donations to pay the vets who keep our dogs healthy and the trainers who help us with doggie manners!

Donations are always welcome and very much appreciated!
