My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a running partner OR …...a furry friend to keep squirrels off your property OR ….
a girl with enough energy to play ball for hours? Got tennis balls? Then this young hound mix of a girl could be the perfect family addition. Here’s what we know about DAISY from her time in foster care:
2 – 3 years young, hound/lab mix ; we think Sight hound, German short haired pointer, Lab mix
Spayed and current on vaccines, hw negative, and micro-chipped
Very SHY (cautious) of strangers (initially) and any fast moving actions from people
Prefers “chin scratches” instead of hands over her head.. will bark if startled
Considers you “friend for life” once she trusts you as her friend or caretaker
Thrives on human companionship; loves children
LOVES to run, LOVES to chase, retrieve and return balls (tennis balls or chuck it balls)
“Nose work” is a priority with her; she enjoys the “hunt” (search and retrieve)
She will entertain her self with squeaky toys and benebones
Loves to learn – treat motivated: knows sit/stay, down/wait, off, paw , and here (recall)
Learning to walk on leash, we think she would be great at agility training
She is house trained and will sleep in her crate at night
She is working through separation anxiety as she has had a furry 4legged (boy) friend by her side most of her life…. So a home with an older (but similar size) boy would be helpful.
Fenced yard is highly recommended for DAISY due to her love for hunting, chasing & running

(Daisy came to DREAM pet rescue (in mid Dec) when her previous caretaker could not pay for the necessary medical treatment required to save her life from the fatal PARVO disease. She is now a healthy girl but the disease has caused her to have a very sensitive stomach; she is currently limited to turkey based food products, daily probiotic and high fiber treats.
