My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Sweet Harley came to us as a surrender when his owner passed. He was an indoor/outdoor cat but is now perfectly happy indoors 100% of the time.

He's approximately 18 years old. He does have hyperthyroidism but is managed by medication twice per day. The medication is in gel form so it is very easy to administrator. His appetite is picky because of his thyroid and age. Having a variety of wet food helps. He does have stomach issues from time to time.

He uses litter box and has never had an accident. Harley loves cat nip! It's his favorite thing in the world! The laser pointer is his other favorite activity. He loves to sleep near you all day. He also loves sleeping in the dog's bed and boxes. He does like to be picked up and snuggled but for only a few minutes. He's very easy going and is looking for a quiet retirement home. He does well with dogs. Unknown about other cats.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require each applicant to complete an adoption application, followed by a home visit. We also contact personal and veterinarian references. We want to make sure that the next home our furbabies go to, is their last, and that they will be loved like a member of the family.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster based rescue, but do also have a small shelter. You can contact us at diamondunderdogs@yahoo.com to setup an appointment to come out and check out some of our adoptables.

More about this rescue

Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue is a non profit animal rescue organization that is run by a dedicated group of volunteers. Our mission is to protect the welfare of animals, one life at a time, from unnecessary euthanasia. From high kill shelters to foster homes to caring adoptive families, Diamonds in the Ruff handles every aspect of the rescue process. Our animals are examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and receive necessary medical treatment. Foster homes are used to provide sanctuary and ensure a successful placement. Our goal is to make the adoption process a kind, informative and rewarding experience because we believe that every animal can become a treasured family pet.

Why we do it:
4 million animals are euthanized each year in the United States.
That is 300,000 a month
Over 11,000 each day
Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue works tirelessly to decrease this statistic.
