My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Parfum is the sweetest cat and all he wants is to be loved! He started having full conversations with his foster on his drive home and hasn’t stopped since. This oh so sweet boy loves belly rubs (his sweet spot), chin scritches and being held like a baby and is so affectionate he doesn’t mind being smothered in kisses. He will get into your lap every once in a while, but most of the time he is glad to just be by your side, especially when sleeping. He is a very active and busy biscuit maker and spends the rest of his time meowing for attention, asking for treats or snoozing in a comfy spot.

Parfum was rescued with dental issues and is in need of surgery. In lieu of an adoption fee, we would be thrilled for a potential adopter to for a larger adoption donation and/or assistance crowdsourcing funds towards their necessary vet bills if possible.

This cat has been diagnosed with a heart murmur and had an echocardiogram -- we would appreciate it if their potential adopter could help us cover this cost in lieu of an adoption donation.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
