My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

To help us make a great fit for you, and any of our dogs as well, please include information about yourself(Home, family, yard/fence, work hours, other pets...) and/or use our application at sparrowdogs.com. Those emails will get the quickest response, we do the best we can, but if we have to follow up with an email asking you about yourself and waiting for a response, well, we have already moved on to the next email that has provided the details. We are doing the best we can to find the right home for each dog or cat, just need your help too! :)

We have had literally thousands of dogs come thru our home as a rescue/foster family, dogs of all shapes and sizes and backgrounds. Every once in awhile someone extra special comes along(of course they are all special!) that just stands out for one reason or another. Shaylee is that girl, we cannot say enough about her, she is that dog that if she comes into your life you will know that there is something extra special going on. So, for her to have been with us going on a few months now is truly a mystery. But, perhaps it was just meant to be, she has helped out so many other dogs along the way, she has been that sweet calming presence to the fearful dogs anxious with this whole shelter/foster situation.

I guess you could say Shaylee has been out resident therapy dog. When a new dog comes in she will take that dog under her wing, show them around, get them to play when all they want to do is cower at times. We take in many dogs that may not be doing well at a shelter due to anxiety and fear. Coming to a home situation helps a lot, but having a calm, gentle yet playful dog to lean on goes a long way to help those little lost souls settle in. Often they are a little intimidated by this big oaf of a girl, but a few minutes with Shaylee and they will soon be best pals.

We adore Shaylee, and love her for all she has done for so many, but it is her time to find her very own home. Shaylee will do great in a home with another playful dog, a fenced yard is a big plus, she has a lot of energy. But, she also is great in the house and loves her a nice soft bed to relax on when she is indoors. Shaylee loves to play fetch so would love to have a family that enjoys being active as well. She is terrific on the leash and does well meeting new dogs and people out for walks. Shaylee likes to think of herself as a lap dog as well, she is a snuggler!! Don't tell her, but she is a little large for that, lol. She is around 60 pounds or so, and a tall leggy girl.

We simply adore this big girl. We really do not know what her breed(s) are, but perhaps Golden, Shepard, Shiba, ??? She was adopted as a pup from a shelter and snapped at a child that had grabbed her from behind. That was months ago and she has matured, but for that reason she will only go to a home with older children. Shaylee will go home with plenty of supplies(worth over $200!!) to help her settle in, even a big memory foam bed!! Spring is here, what a great time to get back outside and enjoy the season with Shaylee!! Her adoption fee is $300, now $250, please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com.
