My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Luna and I am 7 years old. I am a beautiful girl who was surrendered because my owner was unable to keep me. She said I am a smart girl. I am potty trained, love going for rides in the car and going on hikes. I also know my basic obedience commands.

Shelter staff said I have some great pet skills. I do well on leash and am easy to walk. I am a fun girl and am excited to do what my people are doing! I love toys and playing ball. I also like to explore new spaces and occasionally pop by for some treats and love from my person. I may be a good fit for a family with another dog to play with and keep me company. I am young and strong and so loving and eager to please.
I would make such a fun road trip and exercise partner to help you meet your New Year’s resolutions!

Luckily a rescue came to meet me and said I am adorable. I love people and can’t resist dishing out the kisses. He said I showed solid skills toward other dogs too. So they saved me and I am currently in boarding while I wait for a foster or adopter.

More about this rescue

We are a non-profit rescue organization who helps rescue dogs and sometimes other animals from Contra Costa Animal Services as well as other local shelters; usually the scared, overlooked or often the ones off the euthanasia list. We also rescue dogs who have been injured or abandoned trying to keep them from having to go into the shelter after looking for an owner. We then place them in foster homes to decompress and learn to be part of a family as well as learn structure and boundaries. If needed and we can, we also have trainers that help prepare our dogs for adoption.
