My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** ARIZONA ONLY ** PHOENIX METRO AREA **
Angel is a darling little terrier mix. She's not a "cairn" as listed, but this site doesn't have "terrier" (random unknown type) as an option. Nonetheless, Angel is a precious little terrier girl, about 9-10 pounds, and estimated to be 5 years old.

Angel was a stray who was so fearful, she had to be humanely trapped in order to get her to safety. Her fear carries through in her timid little ways that are just heartbreaking, but on another hand, heart-warming because it's so nice to see her learning to trust people, even cling to them for love and safety, and wag her tail with excitement to greet people she knows and be in a home where she feels safe.

Angel is now spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and health checked. She's had a complete blood panel done and also a dental (she needed some extractions). Based on the condition of her front teeth, we are guessing that Angel lived much of her life in a cage and she chewed on the hard metal, trying to get out. No more cages for her. This precious Angel will be loved and spoiled like a family member from here forward.

We prefer no children in Angel's new home since she is so timid. Perhaps if they are older children and seriously mild, gentle, patient, kind, and responsible, we may consider it. Otherwise, our preference is that she is in an adult-only home and she *MUST* have another small dog (or two) in the home. Angel enjoys the company of other dogs and gains confidence from them as well. If you're retired or work from home, this would be great so she has her human(s) around much of the time.

Angel must live in a home with a yard. She is not good at walking on a leash (too fearful) so she cannot be in an apartment or condo setting. Her new family must be incredibly TLC-oriented and patient. Angel will come out of her shell in the right setting with the right people, and with the right approach (we will help through the process). Her foster mama and papa get tail wags from her, and Angel now eats very nicely because she's comfortable in her surroundings.
