Emrys is one of those dogs that you see, and you just "want". He is SO gorgeous and is a total sweetheart. He is in his teenage stage(14 months) so he does get into some mischief, but there is no staying mad at him. He will look at you with those puppy dog eyes and come in real close and give you a kiss and lay his head on you...and all is soon forgotten!

Emrys is good with other dogs and he LOVES to play. He is one of those dogs that could play all day long. He is always looking for something to do and will often run back and forth between dogs in hopes that someone...anyone will engage in playing with him. He can be on the rowdy side at times and is definitely more puppy than anything still. However, once he has gotten his energy out he loves to come on the couch for cuddles and will stay with you for hours.....usually with his head in your lap.

Emrys will need another playful dog in his new home and preferably a more active family. He is definitely the kind of dog that would love to go on walks and hiking. He LOVES people and he LOVES other dogs so if you are looking for a dog you can take it everywhere with you....Emrys definitely fits the bill.

Emrys has not been a big chewer so far, but he will put his mouth on things such as a chair leg, corner table, etc so his new family will need to be ready to redirect him at times. The good news is he is easily redirected and will be begging for forgiveness as soon as he realizes that he did something wrong. We do recommend that his new home be puppy proofed and that they have lots of toys around to keep him entertained.

Emrys aims to please and is always eager to get attention. He is truly one gorgeous dog, and is going to be an amazing addition to just about any family as long as they are prepared to work with him on some of his puppy tendencies every now and then.

---------------------------------------------

Hello there! My name is Emrys and I am a 14-month-old Bernese Mountain Dog mix. We are guessing that I am mixed with Aussie. I know you guys are curious about my past, but I don't really have much to share. One moment I had a home, the next I was all on my own looking for a place to belong. I am not sure how long I was on my own but I was quite happy when someone finally stumbled upon me and picked me up. Unfortunately, it wasn't to give me a forever home but to take me to the shelter. Which I guess is better in some ways, at least there I didn't have to try and scavenge for food, dodge cars, and try to fend for myself with this crazy weather we are having. However, I also knew that I didn't have an owner looking for me so once my stray hold was up...I was on borrowed time. I know I know...how does a gorgeous guy like me go unnoticed...but I did. Luckily, the shelter reached out for help and this rescue answered their plea. It wasn't long after that I joined this rescue's fluffy butt family.

I may have been abandoned in my past life, but I don't let that hold me back. I am always eager to make new friends and was very excited to meet all my new doggie companions when I came into my foster home. It did not take long for me to start wrestling with them and having a blast playing tag outside. Being inside was a new concept for me, but I caught on fairly quickly. In some ways, I feel like I am truly living for the first time. There are so many things to see and do, that sometimes I am all over the place. I am trying to wrestle with the dogs, trying to cuddle with my people, wanting to play with toys, and then exploring the house in search of either attention or a playmate. I may be considered an "adult" but I am also still a puppy in many ways.

I am potty trained, but will sometimes still mark when new dogs enter the home. My foster family has things pretty much puppy-proofed so I really have not been much of a chewer. I am still young but if there are things you don't want me grabbing, I hope you will help a guy out and put them away so I can't be tempted into mischief! ;)

I am good with other dogs and am requesting that my new home have another playful dog as I LOVE to play with them. I am good with cats and don't pay them much mind. I am still young and playful though, so the cats should bve dog savvy because if they run I may give chase thinking we are playing tag. I am not being fostered around any kids. I am a very sweet boy though, so believe I would do well with kids as long as they understood proper boundaries. I am on the more playful side though, so should mention that I may be a little "too much" for toddlers. I really love having a yard to run and play in with the other dogs. However, if my new family were very active and home a lot I may do fine in an apartment setting. So far, I have not been a big barker in my foster home.

That is all I have to share about myself. I really hope that we are a match. In case you missed it, the app to adopt me can be found at https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/hx000BP7nbQvjHX49Uur80FV3

Please I am begging you though, only apply to adopt me if you can keep me forever. If you can't keep me through ALL of life's changes, don't be the one that makes me have to be passed around a few months/years down the line. That just isn't fair to me.

I would NEVER give up on you, so please don't give up on me. I want to be your forever...not your until dog.
