My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our pets are fostered and physically located in Mt.Airy,NC until adopted. Once adopted we can transport to your location or one of our other north eastern delivery locations.

This pup is a Catahoula mix. This pup was born 10-20-22. This pup will not be overly large. My educated guess is around 35-40 pounds at maturity. This pup is sweet but shy. He needs an understanding home. This pup is great with other dog. We have started crate training and potty training.

I am open to offering a very reduced adoption fee to the right home.

This pup will be current on vaccines, deworming, preventives. This pup will be micro-chipped. This pup will receive a physical and a certificate of health prior to going home. The adopter will get all the health records with adoption. Frank KS neutered!

We require a prescreen application to adopt. You can get that on our website at www.saveamuttkennel.net

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require a pre screen application and contract once approved. Our adoption fee varies depending on the animal but our average adoption fee is $325.00 for pets under 6 months old. The adoption fee is $425.00 for pets 6 months old-6years old. Dogs 7 years and older the adopt fee is $100-$200.00. We require a $100.00 holding deposit on all animals once you are approved to adopt. The holding deposit is credited toward the adoption fee so you will get credit for it!

We are a foster based group. Our pets are mainly fostered in VA and NC. We do not have a Physical Facility. They are brought up once they are adopted. We can provide access to low cost transportation for our adopted critters.

All animals over 6 months old are altered before they leave. Any pet under 6 months the adopter is responsible for altering. We can point you to low cost spay neuter access in some areas. It is the adopters responsibility to check to see if this service is available in their area. All animals will be current all age appropriate vaccinations and tests. All pets will be micro-chipped IF we have the chips available. The adopter gets all the vet records with the pet.

You can find our adoption application here http://www.saveamuttkennel.net

You can find our adoption contract here http://www.saveamuttkennel.net

NOTICE TO ALL POTENTIAL ADOPTERS:

1-We reserve the right to back out of any adoption at our discretion at any point during the adoption process! In the event we decide to back out of an adoption we will refund all fees paid to us, including the deposit!

2-We want everyone to know that it is FIRST COME FIRST serve among the APPROVED adopters. Who ever gets their deposit to us FIRST will get the rescue pet. We have always done it this way and we will continue to do it this way. We are honest and fair about it! That means who REALLY gets the deposit to us FIRST will be the one who gets the pet REGARDLESS!!!!!!!!!!! We can not and simply will not take a chance on anyone dragging their feet and causing a pet to miss out on their forever home. So we will NOT hold any pet WITHOUT a deposit. Please read #1 above again. If you do not agree with this please do not apply! The fact is these are OUR animals. We care for them until they find their forever home. We have a lot of time and money invested in each rescue pet, many times we have much more invested than the meager adoption fee we charge. We have the right to decide where the animal will go. They belong to US until they leave our care!

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Our dogs and cats are located in NC and VA until they are adopted. It is much easier for us to foster them in the location where we save them from the area kill shelters than to stress them with a very long ride right off the bat. It is less stressful for the animal to be transported straight to the adopter where they can settle in to their forever home without worrying about being bounced around the country 3 or 4 times first. We can transport to our NJ location once adopted. We have several delivery points in most North Eastern States.

We have a VERY cost effective transporter who has stops in many North Eastern states!

Notice: We reserve the right to back out of an adoption AT ANY POINT that we feel we have just cause to take such action. In the event that WE DECIDE that we don't want to follow through with the adoption we will refund the fees in full to the person in question.

For more information please see our main web site at http://www.saveamuttkennel.net. Please make sure to read the FAQ page.
