$300 adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, rabies and other vaccinations, heartworm test, deworming, and heartworm and flea preventatives while the dog is in our care.

Don’t let his barking fool you. Meeting new people makes him a little anxious, but once you get him home and comfortable, this guy is a complete hoot and absolutely hilarious. Denzello is an extremely loyal companion. When he is not right by your side while you work or watch TV, he is playing fetch or with his favorite toys. He is kennel trained and doesn’t make a peep at night, but also loves to snuggle under the covers with you too. He marked when we first brought him home, but after about 10 days the marking stopped and he has no accidents. He plays great with our other dog and gets along fine with our cats. He is also great with kids. He enjoys walks and car rides especially to the small dog park. We are working on him not barking at new people when they come over. If you give him a firm no and acknowledge him, he quiets down. Denzello is very bright and clever and is also food motivated so can be easily trained. I can’t say enough great things about him and he will make an excellent pet and companion.

Additional adoption info

1. Look at our wonderful dogs and cats. Try to pick just one or two you'd like to meet.
2. Email us to request an Adoption Application. We'll reply within 48 hrs.
3. Complete the application and email it back to us.
4. Our Adoption Counselors will review your application and get back to you within 24 hrs. We reserve the right to decline any application. A home visit may be required.
5. If you're approved, we'll set up a time for you to meet the pet at a location that's convenient for you and the foster. (All our pets live in foster homes around the city. We are not a public shelter.)

Meet our adoptable pets most weekends at one of the locations below. If there's a specific pet you're coming to see, please email (MuttsAndMeows@Mail.com) the day before or call the store DURING ADOPTION TIMES ONLY and ask to speak to a volunteer. Please do not call the store outside of our regular adoption hours. The pets live in foster homes during the week so the store employees do not know which pets will be there that weekend.

Mutts & Meows Rescue is a private rescue headquartered near Sugar Land (in the southwestern suburbs of Houston). We work closely with other rescues as well as the Animal Control Departments of various municipalities in the Houston area to place dogs and cats in loving, permanent homes. Our pets live with foster families, so we know them well enough to make a good match between people and pets. Our adoption fees - include spaying/neutering, vaccinations, FEV/FELV tests for cats, and heartworm tests for dogs that are old enough.
