Portia is a puppy mill survivor. She is extremely shy because she was not people-socialized as a puppy and finds a lot of things scary. We worked extensively with her to get her accustomed to humans and routines in a house. Portia LOVES playing with other dogs. She also enjoys safe chew toys and her safe place (crate). She likes to be around her people but needs the freedom to do it her way--maybe a quick cuddle, maybe not. Her perfect forever family is extremely gentle and patient. They must be willing to work to earn Portia's trust and to reassure her that nobody will hurt her. They will be home most of the time, have other dogs for Portia to play with and a fenced back yard so she doesn't need to be on a leash that scares her.
