My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Haystack is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH)-mix, male, DOB: 9/25/22
Delightful and lively with his kitten playfulness - a fearless adventurer looking to serve his curiosity, this adorably, engaging little charmer is an extremely friendly and outgoing young guy, completely unaware of any dangers in the world and wanting plenty of time for exploration, not wandering far from their people or family activities.
Fearlessly outgoing and bold Haystack definitely has an-over-the-top, larger-than-life personality. Enthusiastically inquisitive with a check-it-out first, ask questions later mentality, he is looking to be present and involved in daily activities as much as possible. Independent exploration with the stalking and conquering of shadows, dust bunnies, toys, or anything else that moves – this too will be a big part of his daily agenda. Definitely the "big brother" of the trio of his siblings, he's quick to jump in to defend them should the need arise - from toys he doesn't recognize or even strange vegetables.
Haystack, along with littermates, Venus and Timber: came to Monroe SPCA as orphans needing critical care - all 3 kittens, not able to eat on their own, found outdoors. The three kitten siblings spent their first months with Monroe SPCA in medical foster being treated for URIs, Giardia, Coccidia, and Roundworm.
Now a happy, healthy feline, Haystack is looking for his forever home with a family who can give him the time and attention a young cat needs. Although Haystack can be adopted individually, we recommend a pairing with several of our other young cats having compatible personalities and temperament.
Haystack is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a calm, low-active to moderately active lifestyle and no active young children under the age of six (6). He's comfortable with other compatible cats and kittens, and he’ll be comfortable in the presence of well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs after being given some adjustment time to warm-up and settle into his new surroundings. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.
Haystack currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet him by appointment with pre-approved adoption application. To start the adoption process, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above.
All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.
Completed applications can be emailed to info@monroespca.org or dropped off at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store located at 293 W. Monroe Street, Dundee, MI.
