My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hearty is a striking domestic medium-haired cat with a distinctive orange and white coat. One of his most charming traits is the way he carries his tail up over his back as he walks, making him irresistibly cute. This unique habit is just one of many things that make Hearty stand out.

Despite his handsome appearance and endearing behavior, Hearty is very timid around most people. His gentle nature makes it difficult for him to connect with potential adopters, which is unfortunate given how special he is. Hearty has been at the shelter since he was a young kitten and is now considered an older cat.

Throughout his time at the shelter, Hearty has needed some dental work on a few occasions. The volunteers have made sure that he receives the care he needs, and he continues to thrive despite these challenges.

Hearty’s long stay at the shelter and his unique personality make finding him the right home especially important. Offering Hearty a loving environment would be incredibly rewarding, both for him and for the person who welcomes him into their life.

If you are interested in meeting Hearty, please visit our website kvckr.com and complete/submit an adoption application.

More about this shelter

Kiski Valley Cat & Kitten Rescue is a no-kill cat shelter that became a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation in 2000. We are dedicated to the prevention of cruelty and neglect towards cats by providing shelter to homeless cats until we can find them permanent homes of their own. Necessary veterinary treatment, including spaying, neutering, Distemper, and Rabies vaccinations are obtained for them. Our cats and kittens are housed in 4 buildings in a mostly cage free, home-like environment, which aids in the adoption process. Being free to run around a room or an entire building allows our cats/kittens true personalities to be more easily determined by both our volunteers and our adopters. We also added fencing between the buildings, and cat doors so that the cats have access to totally enclosed outdoor patios. We have tried to create a pleasant environment as they await their forever homes. Whether you are looking for a very young kitten, a teenager, a young adult cat, or a senior cat, KVCKR is sure to have a cat or two for you
