My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gambit: a sweet and lovable tabby cat whose gentle demeanor is simply sure to win you over! Gambit was declawed by his former owners. When his owner had to go to a nursing facility the Goathouse was able to take him in, and in an even luckier twist of fate, our regular veterinarian examined Gambit and found that he’s in remission for diabetes! While it’s true that some cats may again become diabetic and require insulin at some point later in life, our hope is that by following the vet’s guidance, this will not be the case for our Gambit. Right now, that means a wet food diet only, which will also hopefully help him to shed a few pounds as well. Gambit has so much love to give and deserves a family who will cherish him and commit to providing him with any medical care he may need so that he will have a long and healthy life.

More about this rescue

Siglinda Scarpa is a potter and a sculpter who owns 3 acres of fenced-in property in which she houses up to 258 homeless cats. The Refuge is a sanctuary for these cats, who never have to leave, but if they are adoptable, the cats are posted on our website and taken to adoption events in the community. The more cats that we find homes for, the more cats we can rescue.
