My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nico came to The REAL Bark when a neighbor and former adopter informed us of his person's passing, and needing immediate rescue. Meet your new BFF - Nico. He is the most loving and cute pup around, a 3 year old, 16 lb head-turner that will melt everyone's heart. With proper introduction this pup is good with everyone (he just needs a minute to know who you are) - ignore him for a minute (which is really hard cause he's too cute), and he'll love you forever. Loves cuddling and his other favorite thing aside from treats is a nap or two after dinner. He is incredibly smart and 100% house trained, will not destroy your shoes or flip your trash can, and is really good with children and people in general (after a quiet meeting). Nico loves long walks (learning quickly with consistency to walk well on leash) and will 100% take you up on that bike ride cause he absolutely loves riding. He also loves playing and will chase you around the house if you let him till you run out of breath. Nico is a classic pup with lots of energy and enjoys a regular routine (a creature of habit) - a day full of food, play time, snuggling and napping. He's so busy that sometimes you'll have to remind him to drink some water cause he'll simply forget. He may be a bit vocally expressive from time to time, when he has something to say, though is learning to be quiet and get treats in return. His ideal home is one where he is the only dog and has a one on one relationship with a person or a couple of people who are home most of the day, and have patience to give him the consistency he needs in his environment to continue to thrive - he is an eager pleaser! He is nothing short of the perfect dog with just the right amount of spice and a lot of love to give. Nico is thriving in foster and is ready to move on to his next journey - his new forever home! Nico is crate trained. Please note that we are currently set up to adopt within the Los Angeles county area.
