My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Weight: 8.5 lbs
Microchip ID #: 982091069994729
Arrival Date: 10/5/22

Hi, my name is Delicata and I love human attention, playing a "turtle" basket game with my foster parent, helping with the laundry, sitting in the bathroom sink, and checking out vases of flowers. I am a constant source of entertainment for my foster parents, and they have even started walking me on a harness outside! I absolutely love the snow too!
From Delicata's Foster Parent:

"Delicata is a cat lover's cat. She has a big personality and loves to be involved in whatever is happening. She is not a lap cat but will sit near you to be companionable. She gets along well with our dog, loves watching birds out the window and on YouTube. Delicata, who we call "Kitten", keeps herself very clean and is surprisingly simple to care for as a cat with medical needs; the occasional "outside-the-box poo" is easy to clean up. She gets a lot of attention when we go out with her in her backpack or on her leash! This little girl is charming, active, playful, and makes us laugh every day. We have really enjoyed her."

Delicata has a medical condition called megacolon, so sometimes she gets constipated, and is on special medications and food to help prevent this. She has the occasional bout of fecal incontinence, so she would like to live in an area of someone's house that can be easily cleaned, and she will need a very special adopter who is willing to clean up her messes (and rear end) every once in a while. All the love and entertainment she has to offer makes it so worth the extra care she needs! At the end of the day, she's just another amazing cat looking for the purrfect home. Please consider adding her to your family! If you would like to meet her, please email fostercare@safehavenhumane.com or call (541) 928-2789 extension 106.

More about this shelter

For over 40 years, SafeHaven Humane Society has worked to help our communities’ residents be the best humane beings they can be by providing compassionate temporary shelter care; healthy adoptable animals; information, understanding and education; and population control through spay and neuter programs, instead of euthanasia.

Mission
Finding Homes…Opening Hearts….Educating Minds to strengthen and improve the lives of animals and people.

Vision
We envision a community where every adoptable, treatable companion animal has a loving home and where every loving home has the opportunity to care for a companion animal.

Values
We are guided by the belief that no adoptable or treatable companion animal should be unnecessarily euthanized due to space, time, appearance or treatable conditions.

We are committed to:
* Giving a new chance to companion animals who would otherwise be discarded.
* Strengthening the humane animal bond through education.
* Helping people and their companion animals stay together through the support of programs and services.
* Leading responsibly with compassion.
