My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shasta is a large 5-year old Rough Sable boy who is absolutely bursting with potential! He is one GREAT dog. He is house-trained and will sit for a treat, but that's about it for conventional training. However, he is incredibly smart (he learned how to use a doggie door in about 6 tries and how to open a sliding door in about 60 seconds) and could easily become a performance dog with oodles of titles. We'd like to place him in a home where his people would spend a lot of time with him and help him actualize his true potential. In fact, the reason he came into rescue was because his owners had no time to spend with him and felt he would have a better chance at the life he deserved elsewhere. Shasta is extremely energetic and loves to play with other dogs, toys, and even the occasional towel, when he is being dried off from the rain. Although he is incredibly affectionate, there is no mistaking the fact that he is a HANDFUL and way too much dog for an inexperienced dog handler. He would probably bowl over small children with his exuberance, unwittingly. New - 12.19.05
