My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Caramel

Foster/Home Needed – Rochester or Long Island, NY

Meet Caramel! This beautiful girl is a rescue from Thailand. She's a Thai ridgeback and a survivor of the Thai dog meat trade! Caramel made her way to a Long Island shelter who adopted her out, but sadly she was returned and the original shelter would not take her back. She ultimately went to Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter ("TOHAS”) on her 2nd birthday and she has been waiting 4+ years since for a home. She had great care at the shelter and has a huge following of loving fans, but now at 6 years old, she finally has a chance at finding a true home!

PAWS Long Island- Pioneers for Animal Welfare Society took Caramel into their animal care program and worked with an experienced behaviorist to further evaluate her and provide the structure and care she needs. Jet's Rehab Rescue, Inc. will be assisting to provide additional support to help ensure a successful
outcome for sweet Caramel. We are so grateful to all of the people who have supported her along the way!
