My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Willie. He is a sweet boy who has overcome so much! Willie is a mystery man, but our best guess is somewhere between a year to 4 years old. He is neutered, FIV/FELV negative, and is up to date on shots.

Willie was found in October during a TNR (trap neuter release). It is believed Willie was a pet who was either dumped or lost. Willie is easily frightened but WANTS to trust. He is a total goofball when it comes to playing and he also loves to chat with you. He also shows interest in meeting his foster’s other cats, but unfortunately the foster’s cats do not reciprocate that interest. He has met a small dog and seemed to be fine with her. With a slow introduction, we think he would be okay with other pets.

Willie has high anxiety and so he would do best with an experienced cat owner who will be patient with him. He will need extra time to warm up. Once you have earned Willie's trust he is super affectionate and LOVES to play. He is a gentle boy, and only once he totally trusts you will he let you pick him up. Sudden loud noises and movements cause him to run.

When Willie first arrived he was missing large patches of fur (you can see in the photos how scruffy he looked!), but since then his coat has grown in beautifully along with his trust in people! Willie will overgroom if he is stressed, which means he will clean himself until he has removed fur. Since his foster has taken him, he has recovered, which means a stable environment would benefit him greatly. Willie does have some skin sensitivities and seems to do well on a grain-free diet. He may need dental work in the future.

If you have the time, patience, and love, Willie is ready for a home!
