My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Hercules, formally known as Clark. I'm trying to forget about being named Clark by my previous family. They moved out of the only house I ever knew and left me there alone. I'm glad they left me a mattress in the yard, it was the only thing I had to sleep on for weeks. A sweet neighborhood lady finally reached out to the shelter, and someone came to get me. In the shelter I got walks and was loved on by the volunteers. I met other dogs and seemed to enjoy my time there. After all, it was better than a mattress in a yard where no one was feeding or petting me. I found I like a home much better than the shelter. My foster family has been taking care of me and I've been living with them for a few months getting good food and getting caught up on my preventative vet care.

I'm currently living with a male and female foster mom & six other kids, ranging in ages from 15 years old-3mths. I have a small dog companion and a few cats who share my foster home as well. I do like food, and prefer not to share with others. My new family will need to be willing to have some patience and give me some space when I'm eating. I have been around other dogs and would likely do best with a meet n greet before entering a new family.

I'm really excited about what my third chance at life could hold. I hope my new home has a yard (without a mattress in it) and a soft dog bed for me. I would like to go on walks and get to know exactly how it feels to be safe with my new family.

All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).

We only adopt in the USA. We are open to adopting in other states, except in Massachusetts. There are quarantine laws for MA and until these laws change, we are not able to adopt into MA.
