My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Watch Harvey live in action: https://www.swh.org/staff-favorites.html

Meet Harvey! He's a Labrador Retriever mix, and like a true Lab, he's sweet, intelligent, and loyal. He is 9 years young and not slowing down anytime soon! He is very well-behaved and housetrained, so you wouldn't have to spend time teaching him the basics. He even knows several commands: sit, shake, and beg! He walks well on a leash, enjoys car rides, and is always up for a belly rub! Harvey prefers to be a solo pet, but we promise he has plenty of love to share with his people. He would also do best in a home with no kids since he has some body sensitivity. Come see him today!

More about this shelter

The mission of the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri is to aid in the alleviation of distress and suffering of animals by operating a shelter in need of care, placing animals in suitable homes, and offering educational programs that promote animal welfare.

We receive our animals from people giving up their pets for a variety of reasons, including changes in family situations and moving. Some of our animals have been strays rescued from the streets by a kind citizen, but all of our animals are looking for permanent, loving forever homes.
