My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucy’s Search for a Forever Home: Could It Be You?

Hello there, future best friend! My name is Lucy, and I’ve been waiting a long time to find my forever home. I may not be the kind of pup who will immediately jump into your lap, but if you give me time, patience, and a gentle heart, I promise I’ll be the most loyal companion you could ever ask for.

I didn’t have the easiest start in life—I grew up among more than 140 dogs, never knowing what it was like to be loved by a human. It took me a while to learn that people can be kind, but I’ve come a long way! I still take my time warming up to strangers, but once I know you, I’ll wag my tail and let you give me some nice pets. Just don’t expect me to be a snuggle bug—I prefer to love in my own independent way!

What I do love? Other dogs! Big dogs, little dogs, young dogs, old dogs—I get along with them all. If you’ve already got a pup who needs a friend, I could be the perfect match! I also love going for walks and have learned how to walk on a leash, but living inside a home is still something I need help understanding. If you’re willing to teach me all the things I never got to learn as a puppy, I know I’ll get there.

Just a few important things to know:

No cats, please! I have a high prey drive and won’t be able to resist chasing one.

I am fully vetted! I’m vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped—ready to go!

I am a small girl! At only 30 pounds, I won’t take up too much space.

I need patience and kindness. I’ve waited so long for a home—I just need someone willing to show me the way.

If you think we could be a perfect match, please reach out! E-mail mike@caaronline.org to set up a time to meet me.

Could you be my forever family? I sure hope so!

PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.
