My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Happy Senior

Rocky is a 95 pound, neutered male senior German Shepherd Dog. Sweet Rocky loves his humans, his toys, and taking walks in his neighborhood. After many months in the shelter, this is the perfect life for this senior boy.

Like many German Shepherd senior dogs, Rocky has Degenerative Myelopathy, but he has a full life and experiences no pain from his condition. He takes an allergy pill daily, but needs no other ongoing medication.

Rocky is crate trained, house trained and walks well on leash. He loves to hang out in the back yard to monitor the birds and squirrels as well as the skydivers above his San Martin neighborhood!

Rocky prefers humans to other dogs, but he lives in peaceful cohabitation with his two 4-legged sisters. This gentle. loving boy deserves a quiet, loving home where he can share his snuggles and silly playtime for the remainder of his days.

Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.

Additional adoption info

Are you interested in meeting one of our available animals? Please fill out the appropriate online application on our website. We will be in contact with you to arrange a meeting with the rescue pet you are interested in.

Please note that all of our rescue pets are in private foster homes and meetings will be coordinated with foster parents. Typically, after you meet the rescue pet, we will follow up with you to see how the meeting went. If a match is made, we can finalize the adoption quickly. Please note that we may require a home check as part of the application process. Thank you for your interest in our rescue pets!

Adoption fees are between $100 - $400 depending on animal, breed, age.

Go meet their pets

We operate Pup Plaza (www.pupplaza.org), Silicon Valley's first dog community center where we have weekly adoption events. If you are interested in meeting one of our adoptable dogs at Pup Plaza, please contact adoptions@svpetproject.org.

Kittens and dogs (and some cats) are in foster care with volunteers. After completing an application, a meet and greet can be arranged.
